Man, it was a totally awesome trip! When we flew into Denver it was actually snowing. Like real snow, not the sissy stuff we get in Memphis. And you know what? It was not nearly as cold as I though it would be up there. I mean it was cold, but it didn't feel any colder that it was here in Memphis. Supposedly the difference between the humid air here and the relatively dry air up there.
Anyway, for the first couple of days, Andi graciously toured us around the Boulder area taking us to all kinds of neat little shops, restaurants, and areas. We stayed up in a very cool bed & breakfast called The Alps Inn. When we go back up there in the nearish future (which we will certainly do) we'll be staying there again. The lodge was super cool. I believe it was originally built in the mid 1800's as a stagecoach stop, then became a bordello, then a private lodge, and now a little inn. The folks who own it now were all as nice and accommodating as could be. We got to choose our room since the front of the building was going to be noisy due to the snowplows running during the night. We ate awesome breakfasts and had wonderful little desserts at the end of the day. We both loved it!
Well, then Friday rolled around and we went to stay over at the Johnson's house for the rest of our stay. Much fun was had and lots of cool food eaten! Brian and I went snowboarding on Saturday for about 7 hours. I only almost killed myself one time, so that was good! But I tell you what... That is some EXHAUSTING fun and I was stupid sore for the next two days. Then we all played a bunch of Wii games where we looked goofy but had a blast! Oh, and a fun food thing: while we were in downtown Denver, we stopped at a hotdog vendor on a street there. But his hotdogs were a bit different. Sharaze at a reindeer meat hotdog with cream cheese and I had a jalapeƱo elk hotdog. There were actually very good. So yeah, a whole lotta fun in an extremely beautiful area with our good friends!
And then I walk back into work in order to deal with all this crazy Daylight Savings Time junk. What a freaking mess! I think I'd rather go and torque my knee again snowboarding...
